Purpose: To experience how it feels to struggle alone versus relying on God, having support of fellow believers and learning to connect to God’s promises.

Materials:
– Blindfold
– A clear open space
– Small obstacles (chairs, cones, tape lines)

How to Play

Round 1 – “Alone”

Pick one volunteer to navigate through a mini obstacle course *blindfolded. Everyone else else stays silent—no instructions allowed. After they finish, ask how it felt to try to navigate alone? Ie: frustrated, scared, hopeless?

This is how life can feel when we try to handle everything by ourselves.

Round 2 – “Guided”
Same course, same volunteer, but now a partner gives clear directions to help them through. After finishing, discuss: How did it feel to have help?
How much easier was it than the first round?

Just like having someone guide us in the course, God promises to guide and help us through life.

Round 3 – “God’s guidance plus the family of believers”

Have the volunteer walk the obstacle course again with multiple people giving both directions and encouragement—yelling positive cues like “You’ve got this!” or “Step left!”

Ask: How is this different from Round 2? How did it feel to be encouraged and supported as well as guided?

God’s presence plus the fellowship of believers is like having the ultimate guide and support system, cheering us on and helping us navigate His path and will for our lives. Not only is God always with us, but being part of the body of Christ is vital to our walk.

*Blindfold should remain on until the end of the third round
